DRAGON AGE 2 SECTION

I have read through this thread and come to my conclusions.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN:

The Dragon Age 2 section will be for Dragon Age 2.

It is not going to include the characters from Dragon Age 1 as it takes what, 3 or so months to get to Kirkwall? Unless you want to have your character relocated to that section and have a long interval that they are not doing anything besides being on a ship then don't send them there.

Anyone who has not played DA2 will not have any need to go into the DA2 section as none of their characters will be affected.

The DA2 section will have spoilers. That is a guarantee as there is no way to play it without spoilers being involved. If you don't want to see spoilers don't go into that section.

It is true that the hero and champion are not required in either section; however, some of us like the idea of having them. If you do not like that and prefer that the champion is not there then don't play. I am not about to take away what I have promised to many people for the disinterest of a few.

This will occur at the same timeline as the DA1 section so that REALLY BIG HAPPENINGS affect the other area as well.

Hi Everyone,

I have decided to include a Dragon Age 2 section and am working on how to connect things together.

Since Dragon Age 2 is coming out I figured this may be a way to continue on things with the new prospects.

Please discuss ideas of what we should do with this.

I have decided that there will be two Hawk's, one male and one female, and that we will have a contest on who gets to play them.

What do you think?

How will this contest go about?

Maybe write up a story for the character or something, and the best and most creative one wins?

This honestly should be a separate adventure all together tho. So as to not mix things up, meaning a new section should be made, just for DA2 adventuring, with some new characters made up and such.

The joy of a DA2 section is we have an entire decade's worth of adventure to have there. As for who the Hawke will be, I'd say we go with the male one but I leave it to the leaders here.

Mmm. Having two Hawkes sounds awesome. A contest would be fun! Maybe an 'intro' contest? That, how we could incorporate the beginning of Hawke's journey into this RP. We could have a set standard, so that everyone has the same basic events, but the rest is up to the imagination. By standards, I mean, all stories have to have Hawke 1) Just leaving, say, Kirkwall, 2) Our Current group must be in, say, the Dalish Camp, and Hawke has to meet them there, and then, the rest is up to the writer?

Does that make sense? ;-; Livi shouldn't come up with plans when she's sick.

Well like she said, she wants to have both the female, and male Hawke in the story line. Which is awesome, we don't need to follow canon all the way, thats what makes creating out own stories and adventures so fun, we don't know what is going to happen next!!

Awesome. I was hoping we'd do something like this. *shall join the contest* X333 And if I don't win, I have a character I'll bring to the adventures in Kirkwall~

As for the contest, it'd be fun if we all signed up, and were paired off, and did an RP together as our potential Hawkes, then we'd RP a mission from our time with the mercenaries or smugglers. That way, it'd be a test of RP skill as well as writing/creativity. Two of those who signed up would win.

That sounds like a great idea to me. That would give even more freedom of movement than trying to fit Hawke into the current RP as a contest. Then once we have the Hawkes decided, we can work on how to bring them in.

It would be great if we could finagle the timelines a bit so that it would be possible to have at least some of Hawke's story be included in the real RP (as opposed to the contest), instead of just the one year of smuggling/mercenary work.

I think the idea was having a totally different RP, not mixing Hawkes with our current characters... Maybe it's just me.

Now, that's an interesting idea as well. Hmmm - I'm not sure which I prefer. Both seem good, and it might work better with the . . . ending of DA2 [/goes and cries in a corner for the ending].

Please, be kind with those of us who don't have the game and won't have it in some months and DON'T. JUST DON'T.

Ack, I'm sorry! I won't say anything about the game, I promise. Besides, I cry easily - I cried at the end of Origins, too. I expected to cry, honestly.

This is what I was hoping for as well. And as far as I know, this was supposed to be the whole idea.

I dont want to mix it up either, having 2 SEPARATE rp's would be ideal.

That's what I thought, we have already too many characters in this single RP, and many are not used more often because there are way too much of them. So, the point is, we're going to add MORE characters?

And handling it in a non-spoilery way.

Why have two RP lines? Why not just expand the world? Well everyone needs to play DA2, so spoilers aren't a problem, then after that why not have a post-DA2 RP in the same way we're having a post-DA RP? The ending of DA2 leaves a lot to go on RPing wise. Plus our characters get to age 10 years, there are many possibilities for awesomeness. Or have a simultaneously running post-DA RP and a 10 years into the future post-DA2 RP? Don't know, that'd just get confusing.

Well, I, personally, don't like the idea of mixing RP lines. And I don't want spoilers either

Im going off of the idea that everyone is going to play the game at some point before we start, otherwise it'll be rather hard to have a post-DA2 RP in any capacity, if we can't mention anything that happened in DA2. As for mixing RP lines, if someone wants their DA character to still be around in DA2 time, whats the problem?

The problem for me wouldn't be spoilers, it'd be context. Hard to RP in a setting/period you're not familiar with.
