The excitement built. Maghai clapped his hands and smiled widely, a little squeal of joy emitting from his lips, "This is going to be so fun! I wonder if they have anything with pretty drawings cause I don't read all that well."

"You have trouble?" Hikaru turned, giving the man a curious look. Then she smiled "I really like to read, so I could teach you if you like"

"Oh will you?" He jumped up and down making a couple of guards raise their brows at him as they went past, "That would be great! Our clan traveled a lot and I could read our language but this language is harder to read. Doesn't help that no one taught me how."

"Of course I will" Hikaru laughed, the looks the guards gave reminded her of ones some templars gave her. "It'll be fun"

"So which way now?" He started peeking down halls as they walked and looked through a partially open door to a scream. He grabbed Hiku's hand and started to run as objects could be heard hurling at the door. One hairbrush flew out and hit the wall, "If they didn't want anyone to see them like that in a broom closet they should have closed the door!" He yelped as he turned a corner.

"Woah!" The little mage was surprised by the sudden scream and being pulled along "Uh..what just happened" she asked as they turned the corner

"I peeked in the room and saw two people ... well ... they ... better a sweet gal like you don't know too much ..." He slowed and then put his hands on his knees, bent over while taking deep breaths. He wasn't so much winded as trying to get his composure.

"What?....O-Oh..." Hikaru's face flushed. she stared at the ground for a quiet moment "W-Well we should uh....go to the library then" Her face was still red when she looked up again

"It's fine" Hikaru smiled nervously, she took Maghai's hand and led him down a hall and to a set of double doors, she opened the heavy doors with a little work and entered te library. "This is it"

Maghai was astonished. He had never seen this many books in one place and certainly had not thought there could be so many in any single nation. He gaped at it all, his mind caught up in the magnitude of the room ... until he fainted.

Hikaru smiled, watching Maghai's shocked face. After a while the smile faded and she started to worry "A-Are you-" To late, he fainted. the elf moved quickly and just barely managed to catch him and keep him from hitting the floor. "Maghai?...Maghai?"

It took a few moments before Maghai came to but when he did his eyes shot open and he jumped up, "By the stars and sky that is a LOT of books!!!"

He looked back at Hiku and shrugged with that large, child's smile on his face, his eyes sparkling with glee, "Oh yeh I'm fine. This just ... well I've never seen so many books in my life! Not even when there was some burning off books at this one town where they thought this story was about witchcraft. They hardly knew anything of mages."

"well I'm glad..." she said quietly, thinking of the town. How could it not know of mages? They were always so feared they had to be confined. She shook her head to clear the thought and smiled "why don't we go find one? Maybe we'll find a simple one and I can help you with it."

"Ok!" He rushed off to a bookshelf with some thin books on it and started poking at the spines and taking one out after the other to get a better look at them. He seemed content to play about like this, enjoying the feel of the books.

The mage watched him for a while and then started to laugh "Well now," She smiled "Go on and choose one, unless you'd rather just play with them."

Maghai turned and looked at her confused, "I don't know what one to choose. There are so many." He frowned.

He squeed and pulled down a few books, looking at the covers then rushing over to her with them in almost uncontained excitement. He looked positively overwhelmed with the thought of learning something new.

"Okay!" Hikaru smiled cheerfully "Ready? Let's find somewhere to sit" She walked over to a near by table and sat, smiling.

He bounced onto the couch with her and dropped the books onto the table, looking about with a frown, "I wish we had something to drink and maybe eat."

Hikaru picked up a book, looking at it. "But if you eat and drink when you read the food would make a mess, it might ruin the books."

"Oh." He looked down sadly as his tummy growled then back up at her from under long lashes, "Can we eat first then. My tummy is angry. Jez and I had supper last night with Calliara and Ianto but ... well it's ... is it afternoon already?"
