It's just something I've been wondering about the RP/Dragon Age in general. Of course, in game, we hear everyone in English, but the accents of Antivans, Orlesians, Qunari, etc. are all very distinct. Can we assume that they all speak a native language when in their own country? For example, we know the Qunari speak their own language because of what we hear Sten say- can we assume that Antivans also have an Antivan language (a Spanish/Itallian mix, I believe), Orlesians have an Orlesian language (French, and, I believe, Anglo-Saxon English). I suppose that would mean that Nevarra has its own language, as well (German, as it's based on Prussia, I believe).

I just know that a few times I've been tempted to have Caterina say something in her 'native language', I just wasn't sure if we were going to interpret the other countries having them or not.

IIRC, Gaider has gone on the record as saying that Anderfels is German-inspired; this can be seen in the name Weisshaupt, which translates literally to something like "white head" in German (weiss being German for white, haupt being archaic German for head). Presumably the Anders language would be German-inspired as well.

Dwarves also have some Dwarven slang terms like 'veata' for stop.

Then there's what little Elvish the Dalish know.
