Confused in the Wardens' Home

Nygozy leaned back a bit while watching Kestral and waiting to see if he would or would not answer her questions. He wasn't likely to. He was a stubborn one and that made getting anything out of him very difficult. She considered what she had him there for and the fact that it was the Revered Mother who had decided that he would come there. That she did not like.

The Revered Mother had no right to insinuate one of hers into her ranks and it riled Nygozy that the woman had worked into her bag of tricks to do so. It was easy to tell that he had been a spy but she had not known that he was spying for more than one person. That made a problem which she did not like at all.

"Very well." She said calmly as she looked back at the Templar. It had been quite a few minutes before she spoke but it was more than enough time to think this over, "Fremelda and Bowen will be dealt with tonight."

Nygozy leaned forward and looked directly at him with a reserved expression, "However, I must also contend with another issue this issue has brought to my attention. Even though you have been quiet and well mannered you have shown no interest in this mission. It seems to me that Knight-Commander Greagoir may have been mistaken with his recommendation. Due to this I withdraw my requisition for your services."

She sounded sorry to have to do this but completely hid her feeling that this action would put a bug the Revered Mother's ear. Even though Kestral wanted to get away from these "backwater people," it also meant that whatever his actual mission was would be destroyed. That did not matter to Nygozy so much.

"You will pack up tonight and I will have some guards escort you back to the Tower on the morrow. I'm sorry it had to come to this but I believe we both agree that you do not wish to be here."

Now she could see how dedicated to his Revered Mother he was. If he wasn't then fine, the fellow could leave and they would watch out for the next spy. If he was dedicated he would look for a way to stay.

Kestral cocked an eyebrow to Nygozy's plan, she wanted to see his true colors. But his mission was not her's, and she was not the one to relieve him of his duties. However she could throw a fit, and that would cause much more suspicion than this matter needed.

"If you truly wish me gone, then so be it. I however will not leave until another Templar has come to take my post. You have many mages about, the Veil is thin, and that-" he pointed to her belly "is at risk of a possession. I can send a message to the closest Chantry to here and they can send their best, if that is what you truly wish?"

"It is not my wish to see you gone." She said calmly with a yawn, "It seems you do not wish to be here. I am crazy but not too cruel as to force one who is not of my sect to stay when they surely do not wish to."

The veil was thin? Had Kraven not been able to close it? Then again, he may have only been able to stop that dragon lord and that in itself could have caused tears. It was a wonder then that this area had not gone up in brilliant Fade colours.

When Kestral pointed to her tummy she looked down and thought about what he said. He was right. With this area full of Fade tears her baby was even more in danger. What was happening to her people that they were forgetting to tell her these little bits of information?

She sighed and looked back up at Kestral, "Do you wish to stay or go?" Nygozy asked directly as the game lost it's flavour.

Normally she would have continued on with the man for a while enjoying it whether he answered or not but now her stomach was acting up. This was almost surprising but it had not been long before that she'd had food and now she had something to keep her attention in shreds. If she did not end this soon she was likely to show some form of weakness yet at this point all she showed was a cool resolve and curiosity as if she was continuing the game.

Kestral scoffed, knowing that the turn to her unborn child would cause some change in attitude. However, she held her ground. "It is not that I do not wish to be here. It is not the choice of the solider where their command sends them. I will go where I am needed. And currently I am needed here.

Would you like to retreat to think on my council or would you to continue our talk. Perhaps we could debate the reason your child is lacking that which would make it a being of this plain. It will be half Dwarf-Elf, will it not? Not a too bazar a combination considering. Not often heard of. "

Nygozy thought a moment then sighed, "I think some tea would help me out but no worries." She knew that Kai would rush to find a paige to bring her just what she needed and be back at her side immediately. Kestral wouldn't even know of Kai being or not being there since he was hidden inside shadows but it would be interesting to see the reaction when tea showed up.

"Very well. If you say you are required to stay where, as through your eyes, you are needed it would be remiss of me to send you away." She patted a chair with her foot so that Kestral could sit if he wished, "I would also like to listen to any counsel you may wish to impart. Counsel is welcome. I am crazy but not stupid. If I did not listen to my peoples' words then I would be stupid. Besides, I was believed to become dead from due course, I do not wish this to be true for my child either any more than some wished it for me."

That was an unintentional hint to the man that the reason she got through the Archdemon situation was due to others not wanting her dead but she doubted he would ask her about it anyway. Why would he? Only wardens knew the reason a warden was needed to kill the Archdemon. Kestral wouldn't have that as a reason to mistrust her.

"And yes the child would be a dwarven-elf. Or elven dwarf or ... whatever. Anyway..."

Kestral sighed, and reached into his pouch. It was filled with misc things that the Templar needed around the Tower. One such thing was a white pill. Even with the watchful eyes all around them, the mages still managed to go about a tussle or two in secret (and for the brave they would conduct such acts in a place they would be caught). And the female mages would be required to take the medicine. Refined herbs with a bit of this and that, the body would be safe, but the baby would not. It was safe for the mother. Painful the next couple of days, but safe none the less.

His hand held the pills out to her. The right amount for her size. "If you feel that this would be better." he said simply. The Templar would prefer if she used it right then and there, but he knew he would have to abide by her decision. He was merely offering her the option.

"Keep them. Use them. Just don't throw them away. I will leave you to the thought." the man bowed slightly and turned to walk away.

Calliara happened to be passing by when Kestral was walking away, and seeing that Nygozy was there she decided to approach her. She greeted the Templar with a nod, not really expecting him to return it as she knew what he thought about elves, but she couldn't care less.

The Dalish sat down in front of Nygozy with a defeated sigh and looked at her friend, dark circles under her eyes and looking as tired and broken as everyone had been seeing her lately.

''Hey there. It's good to find a seat finally. What did 'mr stick-upon-my-ass had to tell you?''

Kestrel was intent and certainly had some form of best interest at heart even if the fact was that part of it probably was due to the magic and the fact that the father was an elf. Even so, there was the worry of what this child would be or become. Everything about this pregnancy was a worry to everyone. And she had to admit that they had a right to worry.

She looked at what he handed her, realization in her eyes as she took a big sigh and nodded, "Thank you for the choice." She said, feeling it. If she needed to ... she didn't want to think about it but there was the possibility that she would require these and was glad that Kai was likely not right there and waiting for the paige to come with the tea.

But Kestrel left and Calliara appeared momentarily afterwards. Nygozy closed her eyes and waiting, the silence turning to minutes as her friend sat there waiting for an answer and Kestral got further and further away.

Finally she opened her eyes and looked at Calliara with an expression of uncertainty that she only shared with those she cared most for. Her fingers curled open to show the medication in her palm and the indication was easy enough to see as Nygozy choked on any words to say.

At first the Wolf stared at the pill, confused. At first, it was obvious she didn't know what that was, but she was smart enough to find out.

Astonished, Calliara looked at Nygozy, eyes wide open

''What in Thedas have that... told you? Is that what I think it is? But why? I thought you were happy about this...''

In some way, the Wolf felt betrayed. She had no children of her own, it wasn't likely she would have them - mostly because Drake was dead as well, she reminded herself with a sting of pain -, and she had embraced Nygozy's unborn child with ams wide open and all her heart, not only because it was her cousin's offspring, but Nygozy was her friend as well. So that child was a bit hers too.

Nygozy shook her head and twisted the pill between her fingers as Calliara spoke in anguished tones. She then looked at the sky and crushed the pill then wiped her hands on the table then her slacks, "It was a suggestion from someone who believed we could not handle this. That person knows me not and has no clue about everyone else here."

She took a deep breath and put a hand on Calliara's cheek, "Don't worry, my cousin-friend. It was only a moment I thought of that but I would never have used it. There is always hope."

A mew caught her attention and she looked down towards a small ball of orange then hopped down and picked it up. She mewed back and the little kitten made some sounds and she shook her head, "Mother is dead. I know a place for you though."

Nygozy looked up at Calliara as she petted the kitten, "So, I suppose I should tell you of plans."

''I should give my reports as well'' Calliara sighed with relief, and then started to tell Nygozy all the arrangements she had done with supplies, assigning rooms, burning or demolishing buildings that were too damaged and the plans for building new ones.

Then when she was done she leaned her back against the chair and sighed once again. She was hurt and scared in her deep inner self, but she hid it all and focused on the tasks at hand. She had to get refuge in work or else she would kill herself.
