Lithawen Bein'Nor Empty Lithawen Bein'Nor

Character Name: Lithawen Bein'Nor
Age: 22
Sex: Female
Race: Dalish Elf

Class: Mage
Specializations: Arcane Warrior, Keeper
Favored skills: Shimmering Shield and therefor Fade Shroud

Hobbies: Sewing, arguing, teasing, bullying, killing things, snuggling sheepies,

Background:
Lithawen had always been a strong person, as a child she was chosen to be the next Keeper, known as The First, and thus she was in many ways forced to be serious and grow up faster than any child should. And as a result she is very childish upon joining the Wardens. As The First, Lithawen knows much of her people's culture (as much as any keeper can know) and magic. Traveling with her clan has also made her very knowledgeable and worldly about the many peoples that live in Thedas.

Arcane Warriors were an ancient militant power that died out with much of the elves history and culture upon their enslavement. Only recently have clans stumbled upon the secrets. Lithawen being one such stumbler. When she was seven years old, adventuring in the woods, she feel through what was once the roof of an elven city. Luckly she wasn't seriously injured, and could explore the ruins. She came upon a skeleton standing at the door to a library, held up only by the sword in the ground before it. In animated as it was Lithawen passed it with ease. Many of the books in the library were ruined from water, fires, blood, though a few survived. Being the (smug) scholarly type, Lithawen took all the books she can and laid them out before her. One was oddly about cooking. Another was a rather interesting children's story. And the most interesting one of all was a 'manual' of sorts.

The tattered and brittle book needed to be handled with care. And as it was the accounts of a magical warrior survived in the dead language. Lithawen read this one with the greated interest, picking out the few words she knew. As she spoke aloud one phrase she felt her muscles puls with magical energies. Surprised and a little scared the young Keeper panic, jumping back from the book and bumping into the skeleton who had now turned to her. It's eyeless sockets looks down at her, the eery feeling that it was looking through her and into her very soul. Her fears were unfounded as the skeleton did not attack, it just continued to look at her. It moved over to the book, the magic dairy, and picked it up. He moved back to Lithawen and presented both the book and sword to her.

Or at least this is what Lithawen told the rest of her clan once she returned. Carrying books and a sword three times her size (with relative ease). If this story isn't true, then the real account may never be known.

At the age of fifteen, Lithawen was captured by some Templars while she was away from her clan exploring a ruin. She was taken to the Tower of Magi where she spent a week before escaping back to her clan. While within rocky walls she caused all sorts of chaos, burning a large portion of the first floor's library, causing damage to the statues in the chantry chapel, 'misplacing' important items of other mage's, and stealing from the stock room.

At first there were a few Templar sent after the clan, and even though the Bein'Nor are largely pacifists, they fought to bloody ends to protect their mages. Because if a Templar were to come up the clan, they would have to take a good number of them. (Currently the Bein'Nor are the only clan with more than two mages.) But as the clan moved from country to country the Templar were forced to give up, though they still have Lithawen's phylactery.

More recently, Lithawen was recruited into The Grey Wardens. Nearly three years ago, while her clan was in Orlais. Unlike some Wardens, she did not willingly leave her clan, but conscription from the Wardens was something even the Dalish did not ignore. Her recruiter allowed her one final night with her family. And so the clan celebrated and mourned their sister's departure.

Secret History: (mostly unknown to herself even!)
Duren, Lithawen's father, was a city elf who joined the clan Athelis, Lithawen's mother, was apart of. He was an older man by the time he joined the Dalish, tired with life. But still he found love and had Lithawen. Coming from a harsh background Duren never verbally spook his affection for his daughter, and this caused the young girl to think that he didn't care about her. As Lithawen grew up, the lack of her father's love (in her eyes) turned from sadness to anger when they started to visit her half brother in the city.

Kestrel, her older half brother, was half elf and half human. Though he bore no resemblance to his father's people and retained all his mother's human characteristics. He was 13 the first time Lithawen (who at the time was five) and Duren ever went to visit him, and had much resentment for the Dalish who took his father away. Problems between Kestrel and Lithawen didn't start for a few years, at first he just cruelly ignored her, but around his human friends he would act very rasist and often put Lithawen down. The boy's pent up anger turned to his younger sister one day, and while his friends watched, he tackled the young mage and attacked her viscously.

Lithawen's hatred of humans stems from her brother, and the treatment she endured. Even after telling her father of the incidents, Duren still brought her every two years to visit, in hopes the two would some day reconcile their differences and form a proper sibling bond. But Duren died before the awkward teen years of the two passed.

Lithawen never spook to her father as an adult. Never learned what he was truly like as a person, rather than a parent. She still viewed his disposition as one of not caring. And she cooped with this by turning her dispare into anger. And thus she has had trouble with her fierce temper even to this day.

Personality: Lithawen is rasist, sexist, classist, and every other ist. Pent up anger towards her father now rules most of her relations ad she is unable to truly appreciate a person for simply caring about her. Stubborn and smug, Lithawen rarely sees other as being superior or even equal to herself. Explosive temper is a good way to put her personality.

Weapons/Armor: Elendil, her trusted great sword. It is taller than her and so she slings it across her back at an angle, though it still drags against the ground sometimes. It's made from red steel.
An unnamed and unimportant shorts word that she hands at her hips. Elendil being so cumbersome that her main weapon is often left behind in sudden attacks. So the short sword serves as her light weight back-up weapon for such occasions.
Her necklace is enchanted, giving her a bit more mana and effects to fire magic.
Everything else is just clothing.
