Background: Not much information is known about the being called The Shadow. From what various accounts of him can tell, he is a talking Darkspawn who is an excellent tracker, having rescued two men from the bottom of a well in the middle of a forest. No one knew it was a Darkspawn who did this till they compared the glint of the eyes he had with those of deceased Darkspawn. He also excels at waiting and watching, demonstrating superhuman patience and serenity.

Appearance: As far as most people are concerned, The Shadow looks like any other Hurlock. However, subtle differences are evident in his appearance when compared to the less intelligent Darkspawn. His golden eyes show the spark of intelligence that can chill someone to the bone, and his manner of speech, though halting, is eloquent and sounds almost like purring. The back of his head sports a tuft of coarse black hair, and he wears various garments of light armor that are shaded for any environment in Fereldan, from forest to wasteland.
