On a similar note, sorry for the quiet on the western front over here. I have the first of three teaching certification exams this weekend, and I've been preparing for that, along with some other assignments. Also, this Wednesday I'm supposed to be presenting a project to a class that I should have been using the whole semester to work on, but I'll mostly be cramming all of my work into the next few days, so I might be slow because of that, too.

I'll try to get a few posts in, though, even if they're short! Just a note to Ny, my Anders post will probably end up being a little longer, so it might take a little while longer to get out. I won't leave you hanging, though!

Meh, finished mine last week. Only had one exam.

Monday: MAT250 (advanced linear algebra), CS180 (operating systems)
Tuesday: CS250 (3D graphics pipeline)
Wednesday: COM150 (communications)
Thursday: CS260 (networking)

And this Sunday is the cutoff date for resubmitting CS260 ass3, and May 5 is the due date for CS260 ass4... ;A;

On the upside, I think I'm only in danger of failing CS260 (30%, but that's only assignments 1-3 - I got a B+ or an A- on the midterm, and the midterm and final and last assignment are all weighted much more heavily than the first three assignments), and possibly CS250 if I fuck up horribly on the final (71% in the class, not including the midterm, which I got a pretty good grade on, IIRC).

Finals are always a difficult time in any student's life and since I've gone through enough of my own I certainly understand the pressure involved. Not specifically your pressures (somehow it sounds much worse than mine was) but then again I have chopped out a lot about finals from my mind. It's almost like birthing but I don't want to do that either.

Serethiel ... I look forward to your Anders post but I won't expect it too soon. That's not a problem. It looks like you have quite enough to keep you busy then drunk the next couple weeks

I've been slower than slow myself because of a few bad days I had to take off work. I'm going to try to get a couple posts in before I get to work this morning. I'm going to try the speech recognition again ha.

Anyway, we will see what I can do at this gawdawful time of the freaking morning that my lungs decided to implode and wake me up. If anything.

Enjoy your student lives while you can, because I can assure you once you're done and get your degrees, life will stomp its foot up in your asses. Damnit damnit damnit.

The best part: my last CS260 assignment isn't due until after finals (because the professor is merciful, and also it's against the school's policy to have any homework due the week before or the week of finals, because the week before finals is dead/gold week for all of the game teams, and study week for everyone, except maybe the artists, depending on their exact classes).

Ehehehehe... I'm trying not to think about my final (well, -Final-,)... 15,000 word thesis plus editorial reports, anyone? But from the sounds of things, I don't really have much to complain about in comparison...

Sere, Final, I wish I could do more than just wish you luck... I'll just have to work hard at my own studies so that I can post swiftly and eloquently by the time life settles down enough to give you some thinking space. That, and the offer of endless virtual hugs whenever you need them.

Hrrrrblorghgulghuhg fifteen minutes and an hour until my math final. I should probably grab my stuff and get walking to campus, at least. Also my operating systems final, but from what I've been told, it's not terrifyingly difficult (although that was with a different professor teaching the class at the time) - and at least, the quizzes and midterm weren't, so who knows.

Wait, that doesn't sound like me. :T

But I think I'd kind of rather write 15,000 words than face down a networking final. Or my 3D graphics final (although by all accounts, both are actually easier than their respective midterms, and I did pretty well on the former and not horribly on the latter, so maybe I'm just blowing things out of proportion). Grass, greener, mirrored across the y-axis, etc., etc.

So, my MAT250 and CS180 finals went smoothly. CS250 tomorrow, and I kind of need to do well on it, since I'm carrying a 71% in that class.

COM150 I'm not worried about at all.

And then... CS260. According to the math I did, I basically need to ace the final exam + the final assignment + get an 80 on my resubmit if I want any chance of passing the class. This does not bode well.

Yeah, pretty much. My math and communications classes aren't so bad, though - I needed like, a minimum of a 34% on the math final to pass the class with a C-, so I'm not terribly worried about that, and comms is an easy A required gen. ed. class, so I'm not worried there, either.

Me? I am just stuck writing my thesis (not the doctoral one) that must be a minimum of 100 pages. It's getting difficult right now, as I am working seven days a week, nine hours a day, WITH NO PAY, at the university's lab because I'm licking their filthy asses so when government offers grants at least they'll hire me. But with crisis and such, government is cutting more and more money from everything.

Yesterday I learnt that I am denied medical assistance because I am over 26, living with my parents and without a job contract. Isn't that charming?

Well, technically, previous semester as of today. Summer semester's already started. CS300 (lighting and shaders and mapping), CS380 (AI for games), and MAT300 (curves and surfaces)...

Sweet baby Jesus, I'm almost done. I'm about to head off to my last final right now, and then I just have to hand in a paper today and a paper tomorrow.

Then I have a few days off, and then I'm going to Ireland for a week! It was a pretty spur of the moment surprise offered to me, and I took it without a second thought XD I'll have my computer with me, most-likely, so I'll try to post. If not, I'll definitely post before I go.
