Calli's schedule
Well, as you probably had noticed, there are some days that I'm not here and I haven't posted a note warning about that. And because I am bored, I thought I could explain it a bit.
Some of you know it already. Since october I am studying a master in Madrid, which is 500km far from my hometown. As I just have three days of classess, and sometimes just two, and because I hate Madrid (even if my best friend lives there), I spend a high amount of time in a train or in a bus. Twice a week. Usually I travel sundays and wednesdays: sundays going to Madrid (boooo), and wednesdays back home (yay!).
This means on wednesdays I won't post by night (your afternoon-evening) as I arrived at midnight (in my timezone).
Now reading this I realize that you won't mind at all =P but meh.

Those Mountains are beautiful. I don't really like big cities.

I with Calli...I prefer the serenity of those pictures over the bustle of a city...Just way too many people....

I grew up in small towns with Mountains before moving to Texas. No offense to anyone but I hate Texas. I want mountains and snow. I miss my snow board.

And I, this =P
(this photo is small on purpose. Dammit...)
Also, Madrid is too crowded. It's a big city, well, not that big if you're thinking in cities like... I don't know, New York and such, but big. People are not nice. A waitress at the university bar was shocked when I ordered something saying 'Good morning', 'please' and 'thank you'... and she asked me where I came from, because it was obvious I wasn't from Madrid...

Re: Calli's schedule
Of course not New York. it's the biggest City in the World. I would put Madrid in like Chicago size or L.A.
Beautiful Artifacts over there. See the Egyptian exhibit it is gorgeous. I saw pictures.
Ya people over there aren't very good in manners sadly. Unfortunately neither are Americans are anyone for that matter. You get a few good people like 10 out of a thousand. But most people are Jerks.

Re: Calli's schedule
No offense to museums, but I would rather find artifacts first hand. Would love to get my hands dirty looking for lost artifacts of ancient civilizations.
And Shade....If we go by population its Toyko. (32mil) New york is a far 4th (19 mill). That is by Urban Area (includes all the smaller towns/cities that those new massive places have swallowed up)
Even if you just count the city proper...it still isn't the largest...Just saying though...

Re: Calli's schedule
Actually, the biggest is Tokyo, as Kraven said, and New York is the seventh.
Also, Kraven, I just can't describe what you feel when you find something. To think that (sometimes tiny) piece of 'something' once was made and touched by a human like yourself, but centuries ago... It's even better when it's an skeleton =D

Re: Calli's schedule
Yea I looked at a bunch of different sources...all of them said Toyko was the biggest.
Then for the rest, they showed different ones. ~shrugs~ Stupid websites not agreeing.
But yes I would imagine it would be. I feel something similar when a story I am writing falls into place.
I don't feel it so much when I write articles and "real world" stuff though.
I have read tons of books on things people have found. I remember when I was younger and I was reading this book on a village that was uncovered. A volcano had errupted and covered it in ash, preserving most of it. They even found bodies that were still crouched down, some protecting their children.

Re: Calli's schedule
Maybe it's just me. personally I hate Tombs..I hate being underground...I have a phobia of being buried alive. I had a cave crash down when I was a kid stuck in there for 3 hours. I hate being underground. And dead people ugh I can handle dead things just...I hate Zombies period.
Oh Kraven I heard about that Volcano as well. Said the people were killed Instantly.

Re: Calli's schedule
Ah yes, that's Pompeii and Herculaneum. That was a tragedy for the people that died there, but very valuable for knowing how were things in those days. What covered those cities is called a Pyroclastic flow.
I don't like being underground either, yet if I have to excavate in a cave, I do it. And I don't see what's wrong with finding bones in excavations. I love forensic archaeology, finding corpses and skeletons and finding out their sickness, why they died, how was their life, things like that. I love ceramic as well

Re: Calli's schedule
LOL yes, my lecturer hates that series =P Also, she is suppossed to be a forensic anthropologyst, it's not the same... That series is good (I used to watch it... David Boreanaz...) but as CSI and many others, fall into phantasy. An anthropologist can just tell you which bone is the one he/she is studying, and maybe age and gender. But an anthropologyst can't tell you which diseases that guy had, why he died, etc. That's what forensic pathologysts do. A forensic archaeologyst does is similar to a pathologyst, but with archaeological bodies.

Re: Calli's schedule
That's right =P in fact those kind of series are causing lots of problems to lawyers and judges, because people can't separate tv fiction from reality and believe all the tests the series show are for real or even that quick. It takes weeks, or months, to do a good test, not minutes or hours as it's shown.
But they are good series though, sometimes show people how to deal with crimes and such.

Yea they only have an hour to solve the crime, so the process needs to be sped up somehow.
Anyone with any amount of intelligence would realize that its not REAL..and that those things take time.
