Devin V0UbZ

(Ignore the fact that the Kirkwall Chantry is in the background, lol. He resides in Ferelden.)

Character Name: Devin
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Race: Human

Class: Warrior
Specializations: Templar/Guardian
Favored skills: Templar Skills, Two-Handed Weapon Skills, Guardian's Shield

Hobbies: Devin likes to read and socialise, even with mages. He likes to keep himself in top form, and trains every day. He also finds it interesting, watching mages use magic.

Background:
Devin was the son of a mage—named Darelle—who resided in the Circle of Magi. The identity of his father was unknown, but it was presumed that he was human like her and a mage as well. Taken from his mother as a newborn, he was raised in the Tower's chapel, given an education in doctrine and academics, and watched closely, as they expected he would show magical ability. From his childhood to his teens, he did not, and it was decided that he would be trained as a Templar.

He was a very devoted young man, having gone from somewhat fearful of magic, to with training somewhat loathing of it, but prepared. He may have disliked magic, but having grown up in the Tower, he had known mages, and had read from books in their library. He hardly knew what life was like outside the Tower, aside from when he went to Denerim for additional training. It was strange, going from the peaceful Tower to a large, bustling world. He had been a bit nervous about leaving the Tower, but found Ferelden to be fine, though after his training in Denerim was complete, he returned to the Tower.

He took his vows, and was soon assigned to a Harrowing. The mage did well, but the next Harrowing that he was assigned to did not. The mage that had been sent into the Fade couldn't resist the demon, and became an Abomination. Greagoir let him fully transform because Devin was ordered to slay him. It was scary, to think that a demon could possess a mage and become such an awful creature. Devin was glad, at least, that he could protect the people, and the mages, from monsters like that.

Uldred's attack on the Tower came, and Devin was one of the few that survived; he was among the few forces that Greagoir had while waiting on reinforcements from Denerim. On his path to the entrance hall, he'd seen a demon—a true demon—and had slain it. It was a scary moment, to think that those things had run amok in the Tower. And thus it was a relief when a strange arrived, and saved the Tower from its abominable fate. He was part of the cleanup crew, and though he loathed touching those things, the Templar would not let a single shred of Abomination remain. To this day, he works in the Tower. His is the night shift.

Personality:
Devin is a well-spoken, educated man, though somewhat socially awkward having lived in a tower all of his life. He is civil, even to mages; it isn't their fault that they have magic, and what they choose to do with it defines who they are. Should they become apostates, or maleficar, he would hate them and were he sent to hunt them down he would run them to the ground, even if they were a mage he had considered a friend. He finds the other races to be fascinating, and though he doesn't follow their religion, feels it is fruitless to try and force the Chantry's views upon them as most ears are deaf. But as he isn't a priest, preaching is not his duty. To his duties as a Templar, he is highly dedicated, and they say he is skilled, but he judges himself humbly. To just about anyone agreeable he is nice, and he loves to socialise, and learn things about people. He is more of a listener, than a speaker, and is not very outspoken with his views. He dreams of having a close friend, and maybe someday getting a chance to travel the world outside. He is, as other Templars are, addicted to Lyrium; this may add slightly to his social awkwardness.

Weapons/Armor: Devin is rarely seen out of his armour, though he does not like wearing his helmet, and Greagoir allows him to not where except on some occasions. When off-duty, he wears Chantry robes and still carries his sword around if he can in its holder on his back, and sleeps in nightclothes. His preferred weapon is an ordinary Ferelden Greatsword.

Appearance:
Devin has short red hair, which he usually washes and wears and it falls into his usual style—parted at the side. He keeps no more than light stubble. His eyes are a light blue. A skilled user of two-handed blades, Devin is a muscular young man, with a few battle-scars. Whether handsome or not, he doesn't know—he doesn't tend to think on those things, having opted to take vows.

This is really good! Welcome to the group and thank you for joining. I believe we can bring Devin in easily since Nygozy is in the Tower.

Here is the thread - https://dragonageafter.forumotion.com/t146p15-to-the-tower - you can bring Devin in when you wish.

Awesome, thanks for the compliment. :3 I'll post in there soon! I didn't realise until after I'd posted Devin that the Grey Wardens were looking for a Templar. (Read "Prospectus" while I was waiting to be approved). It'd be fun to get him into the Wardens, for sure, if possible.
